The fact that negative emotions have a negative effect on sexual behavior is already known. However, a recent study investigated specific areas of sexual behavior that are influenced by frequent feelings of anger.
While one would expect that anger would reduce the desire for sex, the results were seditious. Anger had no significant relationship with the people’s motivation to have sex. Feelings of anger did not affect neither their mood nor their need for sexual pleasure.
The results of this study were the same for both women and men. The same study showed that anger had a significant impact on the way that one has sex. Specifically, anger was associated with significantly more neurotic (anxious), impersonal and aggressive sex. The strongest correlation was found between anger and impersonal sex.
These effects were mostly evident in the sexual behavior of men than in women. It appears therefore that the sexual behavior is like canvas, wherein one’s personality and feelings are reflected, even when they are negative.
